FCM in India are regulated by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare under the Prevention of Food Adulteration Act of 1954.
All food packaging must be preserved in not-contaimnated zone, must not be used for non-storage use and must be in clean condition.
For Plastic containers, the legilsation requires the compliance to Bureau of Indian Standards.
